If you want to be a successful leader, you have to excel at managing change.
And to do that, you have to be more than just a successful communicator.
Changent Mastermindcreating confident change agents
Communication training for next level leaders
If you want to be a successful leader, you have to excel at managing change.
You need to be a Changent
An agent of change. Creating change by design whilst proactively handling issues on the fly. Not afraid to deal with anything that the day-to-day might throw at you. Strategically approaching every situation by using real skills that you can implement to better manage yourself and your team.
You don’t want to be an average leader. So this isn’t your average leadership training program.
Delivered over the course of a year, the Changent Mastermind program is all about turning managers into leaders who can go on to both effectively build credibility within their organisations and successfully lead change.
What’s in it for you?
At the end of the Changent Mastermind program, you will be able to:
- Achieve the self-awareness critical to great leadership
- Navigate your way from strategic thinking through to the planning and implementation that will ultimately help you deliver
- Bring out the best in yourself and others
- Handle difficult and complex situations professionally (with a calm you didn’t know you had and without the sweaty palms).
You’ll develop a deep understanding of communication architectures across both personal and organisational communication. We will focus on your specific challenges through one-on-one strategy sessions and you’ll leave with a highly refined personal development plan that ensures your ongoing, accelerated development.
What’s in it for your organisation?
Your organisation will gain a leader who:
- Understands how to assess their environment and design the appropriate approach moving forward
- Navigates effectively between strategy and management
- Has a deeper understanding of change leadership, strategic planning, change management and project management. (it’s more then just project management)
- Can take their team on a journey.
Furthermore, when you do the Changent Mastermind program, you’ll be expected to work on a real project. Your project. It might be an organisational change project, such as a restructure or redundancies. It could be a transitional change or designed efficiencies project. It could be a strategic project that needs some seriously well-considered communications. It could be a culture change or contract change that affects that way you operate. It might even be a professional development based project that will benefit your growth as a leader.
Whatever it is, as you work on your project, your organisation gains the benefit of access to a change and communication professional (me) without the level of investment they would need to make if they engaged me full time. Plus, you walk away with a new set of skills and confidence.
The Changent Mastermind program is limited to 10 participants and registration for 2019 will close on 26th June 2019
Delivered across 12 months, the Changent Mastermind program will develop your skills and help you deliver on a project or personal goal.
Your communication profile
The course begins with a focus on personal awareness and development including communication and decision-making profiling. I interview you in a recorded session to develop your communications and decision-making profiles. After we’ve debriefed on the results, the Masterclasses will commence.
The profiling sessions and the 11, one day Masterclasses are held in person in Brisbane, Australia. Facilitated by me and other topic specialists, each Masterclass will focus on a specific development area and be supported by additional learning in the Changent on-line portal.
Part 1: Personal and Situational Awareness
|July '19||Theme: Developing your Communication & Decision-making Profile||Instead of a face-to-face Masterclass, the first month of the Mastermind is focussed on the development of your communication and decision-making profiles, and developing your goals. We explore your leadership style and how it works both for and against you when you interact with others.|
|August '19||Theme: Environmental & Self-awareness – Communication||In our first Masterclass we take a deeper look into your communication preferences in relation to understanding how you adapt and navigate different environments. We also explore how having an understanding of the environment in which you operate is critical to being able to bring your best “you" to the table.|
|September '19||Theme: Environmental & Self Awareness - Decision-making||This Masterclass focuses on your decision-making profile: how you make decisions and how you can use this to your advantage. We look at the values, needs and identity that impact the decisions you make in your environment and how you can become more adaptable.|
Part 2: Leadership Communication
|October '19||Theme: Change Communication||Being able to communicate well in times of change is essential to being a good leader. We look at how you can consider the needs of everyone involved in the change to create the best outcome.|
|November '19||Theme: Strategic Communication||As a leader and a change agent you need to understand strategy and how to communicate it. We explore various strategic planning models, how to use them and how to communicate strategy in a way that takes your people on the journey.|
|December '19||Theme: Leadership Communication||Real leadership success means knowing the difference between managing and leading (and when to do which). We look at the language of leadership, the actions and behaviours required and how to navigate between leadership and management.|
Part 3: Dealing with the tough stuff
|January '20||Theme: Difficult conversations||Leadership brings with it the challenge of difficult conversations. This module will help you understand the different roles you play as you navigate the stages of the difficult conversation, as well as teaching you how to focus on what’s important and bring your best you to the table to achieve the best outcome.|
|February '20||Theme: Negotiation and Influence||We explore your negotiation style, strengths and weaknesses so you can create a positive influence in your organisation. You’ll learn the role that motivation plays in achieving a good outcome and the negotiation mistakes to avoid.|
|March '20||Theme: Conflict||There’s healthy conflict and then there’s unhealthy conflict, but one thing is certain: engaging people to be a proactive part of the solution is vital. In this module you’ll learn to deconstruct conflict and understand its elements so you can resolve it strategically.|
Part 4: Designing your best you
|April '20||Theme: Credibility||You build or break your credibility with each and every conversation. In this Masterclass we focus on how you can use everything you’ve learned to build and maintain your credibility.|
|May '20||Theme: Mojo||No matter how skilled you become as a communicator, we all lose our mojo once in a while. Learn what to do when you get stuck and how to find a way forward when things get really tough.|
|June '20||Theme: Celebration||This Masterclass is an opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate everything you’ve achieved throughout the year. But the learning doesn’t end here. We’ll look at what comes next for you and make a plan for the year ahead.|
During the year, I also work with you in two one-on-one strategy sessions so you can proactively apply what you’re learning to a specific project or personal goal.

Other important questions
What’s the time investment?
The work required is in-depth and the commitment is intensive. You are truly making a yearlong investment in yourself.
There’s one day per month of contact time plus about two hours per week in the Mastermind online portal. Some of the work we complete will be project based around issues you’re specifically dealing with in your role, so you should be able to complete it at work. Some of the work you might need to do in your own time. As with most things, the more time you invest, the greater the outcomes you’ll create.
How is the course delivered?
The communication profiling sessions are video recorded and these will be one-on-one with me as will the debriefs for this section of training. The 12 Masterclasses will be face-to-face together with the other members of your Mastermind group and they will be held one day every month in Brisbane. Strategy sessions are delivered in person or via Skype, whichever works best for you.
